Jake Wood-Evans
Into the light
23 MARCH 2012 — 22 APRIL 2012
Jake Wood-Evans has been showing in our gallery for a few years now. We are thrilled to be the first to show a solo body of work for this artist. The timing could not have been better. Jake has recently been showing in London, where his work has been turning heads in some great galleries. We sell all the originals we get into the space, and if his recent print sales are anything to go by, the show should be very well received.
The artist has been hard at work in his studio for months now, as he works on this body of original canvases. For this set of work, the artist is drawing from different areas of interest. Alongside some of the stronger elements in the show, the artist has managed to add a lighter ethereal quality that creates a perfect balance to even the strongest subject matter.
Large canvases that combine a clearly accomplished hand at painting, and some wonderful skill will fill all the wall space in the gallery. Jake has been refining his style over the last years, and in this show it is clear he has reached a turning point. So if there has ever been a show to celebrate the art of painting, this may be it.
