The Power of Portrait
23 OCTOBER 2009 — 15 NOVEMBER 2009
Our current show at Ink_d explores the power of the portrait and the status it gives its subject through painting, print and drawings.
Featuring new work from Aimee Parrott, Foundry, MissBugs and Sten & Lex ‘The Power of Portrait’ will inspire questions of identity, biography, diversity and fame, which lie at the heart of portraiture and how the artist interprets their subject.
The most powerful and recognisable image to the human eye is the human face. A portrait is an artistic representation of a person in which the face and its expression is predominant. The intent is to show a likeness or capture the qualities, personality or mood of the subject.
Upstairs @ Ink_d
We continue the theme of portraiture with work from Alex Binnie, Zachary Walsh, Simon Dixon, Req and introducing to the gallery the work of Jack Joiner, Jane Sampson and Laurie J Proud.
