Happy New Year from all the crew at ink_d gallery! We hope your January is not too miserable after the hedonism and excesses of Christmas, but if you are feeling a little blue this month we’ve some fabulous art to remedy that.
Arriving in the gallery towards the tail end of last year we had graphic artist Jamie Hewlett’s latest brilliant prints series. Hewlett is well known for his collaboration with Damon Albarn and creating the artwork for the virtual band Gorillaz, as well as the cult classic comic book ‘Tank Girl’.
The prints were first shown in Hewlett’s long awaited exhibition ‘The Situationists’ that was held last year at London’s Saatchi Gallery. In the new work he has interpreted the unusual world of erotic tarots, designing his own set of oversized cards rendered with the artist’s unique draughtsmanship. The whole collection was inspired by Chilean art film auteur Alejandro Jodorowsky’s reconstruction of the original Tarot de Marseille.
At just £250 a pop these wonderful prints present a rare opportunity to own a piece of work from one of the most celebrated and unique graphic gunslingers out there!
Also opening tomorrow is our Contemporary art clearance sale. This is a strictly in house affair so don’t expect to see any of the bargains published on our website, the only option is to come on down to the gallery where there will be some insane January reductions on editions. When they’re gone they’re gone, so be quick people and banish those winter blues!
